The children who shop at TKC are in a situation totally out of their control, through no fault of theirs. We exist for them. It is an honor to support the children who need us and to do so with their dignity and self-esteem as our priority.

As a foster parent for many years, I have seen first-hand many children coming into care with only the clothing they are wearing. We saw the need and moved forward with opening Teen Closet to serve children in our community. Such a blessing seeing those smiles as they shop, and they know someone cares.

Teen & Kid Closet allows me to take a hands-on role in making a positive impact in the lives of the shoppers that come to our store.

I serve because a kid’s self-esteem is a very fragile commodity and should not be impacted by economic factors that are outside their control.

Teen and Kid Closet provides hope and a belief that a community supports and cares for them.

Clothing can play such a large part in how we see ourselves, how we express ourselves, and our sense of self-esteem. That is why I truly believe that Teen & Kid Closet can play such a big part in children and teens being able to realize their fullest potential.

I serve TKC because I want to help make a difference in the lives of the kids and families we support.

I’m proud to be a part of the Teen & Kid Closet board and feel blessed to do my small part to help kids in our community who need it most. There’s a kind of magic that happens on shopping days at TKC. I love seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces and enjoy watching their eyes light up when they fall in love with a new outfit or pair of shoes. It’s a pleasure to make them feel special, welcome, and cared for.

As an immigrant myself, I can appreciate the community coming together to help kids in need. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the future of Teen & Kid Closet.

Seeing the happy faces of those who leave the store with bags full of new and gently used clothes is her favorite part about Teen and Kid Closet. Stacy enjoys working with all of the amazing volunteers and is thankful for the generosity of the Spokane community.
